Audiovisual Laboratory

The Audio Visual Laboratory at the Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta is a facility specifically designed to support audio visual practicum activities and functions as UPNTV’s broadcasting studio. This laboratory plays an important role in providing practical experience for students in the field of audio visual production, broadcasting, and content management.

The laboratory facility is equipped with a variety of state-of-the-art equipment that includes video cameras, microphones, lighting equipment, editing software, audio mixers, and other technical equipment. All of this equipment assists students in learning the technical aspects of audio visual production, such as shooting, video editing, audio arrangement, and overall production management.

The Audio Visual Laboratory is also equipped with a spacious and ergonomically designed studio space. The studio is designed to replicate the actual atmosphere of a professional television broadcasting station. Students can develop their skills in live broadcasting, television programme making, and production of various types of audio visual content. In addition, the laboratory also provides specialised classrooms that can be used for practical lectures, discussions, and training sessions.

The Audio Visual Laboratory is the main place for Communication Science students to develop their practical skills in the audio visual field. Through practicum activities and the use of this facility, students can learn various concepts of audio visual communication, the use of technology, and best practices in the broadcasting industry.

With this modern and well-equipped Audio Visual Laboratory, the Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta provides an enabling environment for students to develop their skills in audio visual practicum and career preparation in the field of media and communication.

AUDIO VISUAL LABORATORY ACTIVITIES

The use of the Audio Visual Communication Laboratory is mainly to carry out practicum activities for various courses related to audio visual. These courses include:

  3. Television Artistic Style
  4. Television directing
  5. Television Programme Direction
  6. Cinematography
  7. Electronic Photography
  8. PR Media Production
  9. Electronic Media Production
  10. Television Journalism

This laboratory is designed to provide practical experience to students in applying the theories and concepts learned in the classroom.

In addition, the Audio Visual Communication Laboratory also has an important role as a production and broadcasting site for LPK UPNTV which is managed by students of the Department of Communication Science under the direct direction of the Department. Students can develop their production and broadcasting skills through practical experience in producing quality television content.

The Audio Visual Laboratory is also used to support the Tri Dharma activities of Higher Education. Apart from being a place for practicum and production, this laboratory also functions as a centre for media-related research and community service. Students and lecturers can conduct research and development in the audio visual field and contribute to society through media-focused activities.

During the pandemic, the Audio Visual Laboratory also plays an important role in accommodating the creation of audio visual-based teaching materials by lecturers. In a distance learning situation, this laboratory becomes a means to produce interesting and interactive learning materials through the use of available audio visual technology.

With its various functions and roles, the Audio Visual Communication Laboratory at the Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta is an important facility in supporting learning, media content production, as well as the development of science and services to the community in the field of audio visual.
