LPM Sikap UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta Launches Bulletin Work

The Student Press Institute (LPM) Sikap UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta launched a bulletin entitled Beyond the Pleasure of Taste. The 60-page bulletin brings the main issue of food inequality. The launch was held on Saturday, (4/6/2022) at the 5th Floor Meeting Room of the Rectorate and broadcast through the Zoom Meetings platform.

“Every launching we bring different issues and the issues we bring this time are actually rarely raised. This post-pandemic activity is also a breakthrough for LPM Sikap itself,” said the Head of the Committee, Iftinan Adhasari Pramesthy.

Iftinan explained that in preparation for the launch of this work, the committee was not alone. They were assisted by several internal divisions of LPM Sikap. Starting from editorial, design and layout, and corporate division.

This bulletin consists of 17 articles. In addition to food inequality, there are several rubrics that discuss culinary issues from various sides. For example, the rubric of memory that discusses the relationship between history and food, the rubric of flow that discusses food from the religious side, or the rubric of persona that tells about inspirational figures in the culinary field.

“I was able to meet the founder of Gifood and realised that students out there are really working hard to save the environment,” said one of the authors, Diah Rahayu Agustin.

Diah herself wrote a work that raised a platform for saving food waste. The work is entitled Gifood: Innovation to Solve Food Waste Problems Today. She said she was proud and touched to be one of the authors in this work. “I am very impressed because my friends are very enthusiastic and work hard despite the challenges and obstacles,” she added.

“This bulletin accommodates and explores the ability of LPM Sikap members in journalistic work. We held a release to dissect each work. Yesterday’s release was also a celebration of LPM Sikap’s 7th Anniversary,” said LPM Sikap General Manager, Arinda Qurnia Yulfidayanti.

This activity also invited LPMs from other universities in Yogyakarta as well as several internal campus organisations. Here each writer tells about the coverage process and the ideas brought in his writing. The activity was closed with the cutting of tumpeng by the General Leader and Advisor of LPM Sikap.

Through this activity, Arinda also expressed her hope. “Hopefully the work of LPM Sikap can be known to the public and there will be a space for discussion about the writings that have been published,” she said.
