The Department of Communication Sciences is located on Campus 2 in the Babarsari, Depok, Sleman, under the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). Some of the public facilities besides classrooms, libraries, and laboratories include:
The department management and the lecturer’s office
The lecturer offices facilitate more personal academic interactions between students and lecturers. This room is significant because academic guidance is mostly carried out in this office so students can easily express their opinions, and lecturers can provide feedback or vice versa. Lecturer and department management offices have chairs, air conditioning, lights, free wifi, and a living room.
CBIS (Computer Based Information System)
This system was created to ease the students’ access to schedules, study design cards, study results cards, and important announcements.
Internet network
Internet network with free wifi is also part of the facility that allows academic interaction between lecturers and students. In the CBIS service, for example, students need access to enter the service. At CBIS, students can communicate with lecturers through the comments column.
Mosque
As a place of worship, the mosque often holds religious study sessions, book discussions, and other activities. On several occasions, these forums are filled by lecturers from the Communication Science Program and attended by students. Academic interaction occurs because the program’s educational vision aims to integrate religious character education with communication knowledge. The two-story mosque is equipped with prayer facilities.
Sport Field
Every student in the Communication Science Program must take sports I and II courses, so the facilities are used for sports courses and extracurricular sports activities, whether scheduled or not related to the course. The Babarsari campus has a sports hall complete with badminton equipment and mats, a futsal court with equipment, and a basketball court.
Parking area
Parking areas at FISIP are three areas that can accommodate four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles.
